Jesse McDonald
Mountain West Leader
Jesse's Story
Jesse joined the Marine Corps as an infantryman shortly after graduating high school. For most of his 10 years of service, he served with 1st Marine Raider Battalion as a Critical Skills Operator. During a team training event with Alaska’s Air Force Pararescue (PJ), Jesse became aware of the endless amount of joy, fulfillment, and adventure that can be found in the mountains. Much like the rest of the Veterans Expeditions team, he now uses these outdoor adventures as a form of therapy – to connect with himself, nature, and other like-minded veterans. After his time in service, Jesse pursued a degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis from Norwich University while contracting overseas. Upon graduating from Norwich, he obtained his EMT certification to set himself up for a successful career in fire & rescue. Jesse currently lives in Golden, CO.
