Matt grew up in Richmond, VA and joined the Marine Corps in 2008, after graduating from the Virginia Military Institute. While serving, he had the opportunity to work with a wide range of US and foreign forces as a forward observer and joint terminal attack controller. After leaving the Marine Corps in 2015, he returned to Richmond and began exploring everything the surrounding area had to offer. He was introduced to VetEx by a friend in 2019, and has enjoyed connecting with veterans and getting outdoors any chance he can. He enjoys rock and ice climbing, as well as mountain biking.
