Since leaving the Army in 2018, he moved to Bellingham, Washington. A lifelong outdoorsman, in 2015 Nate was trained in mountaineering and alpine climbing and enjoys spending time in the mountains hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing.
