After graduating high school in Washington state, Thomas enlisted in the Marines Corps as a Combat Engineer. During his time in the Marine Corps he served on two deployments to Afghanistan. Following military service, Thomas pursued a degree in Environmental Policy and Management online from Purdue. During this time, a love for the outdoors and the recreational activities it holds grew tremendously. Searching for an outdoor community, Thomas found VetExpeditions was hosting an ice climbing trip in Ouray, Colorado and has been participating in rock and ice climbs ever since. Thomas currently resides in Denver, CO.
